You Are a New Creation Because of the Power of God

One of the most powerful truths we can hold onto as believers is found in 2 Corinthians 5:17:"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, something incredible happens. We aren’t just improved versions of ourselves — we are completely made new by the power of God. The old life, filled with sin, shame, and brokenness, is gone. In its place, God gives us a fresh start, a new heart, and a new future.

It’s not our strength that changes us; it’s His. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, the power of God is at work in us, making us alive in ways we could never be on our own. This new life is full of His peace, His joy, and His purpose.

You Are a New Creation Because of the Power of God

Here’s a great song to worship God as a family:

Mighty Name of Jesus (Feat. Hope Darst) // The Belonging Co

This week is a great opportunity to talk about what it means to live as a new creation. Here are some simple questions you can use each day to start conversations around the dinner table, during a drive, or before bedtime:

  • What do you think it means to be “in Christ”?

  • How does it feel to know that you are a new creation?

  • What are some old things in our lives that Jesus helps us leave behind?

  • What are some new things Jesus brings into our lives?

  • Why is it important to remember that the “old has passed away”?

  • How can we live differently now that we are a new creation?

  • What is one way we can celebrate the new life Jesus gives us?

Let’s not forget: being a new creation isn’t something we earn. It’s a gift. It's a daily reminder that no matter what we face, God’s power is bigger, stronger, and always working to make us more like Jesus.

Let’s pray together:Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, who died for us and rose again on the third day. Because of Him, we are made new. Thank You for the new life we have in Christ. We praise You, we worship You, and we give You all the glory. Amen.

You are not alone on this journey. You are part of a growing group of families choosing to lead with faith and hope. We’re excited to walk alongside you!
