A Savior Is Born
Christmas is more than a moment on the calendar. It is a declaration of hope for every family, every home, and every heart. In the quiet of Bethlehem, God stepped into our world in the most personal way possible. Luke 2:11 reminds us that this was not just history unfolding. This was good news meant for us.
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
Those words still carry power today. Jesus did not come as an idea or a symbol. He came as a Savior, present and personal, bringing light into our darkness and life into our homes.
Jesus Came for You
The angel didn’t say, “A Savior has been born somewhere.” He said, “A Savior has been born to you.” That one phrase changes everything. Jesus’ birth was intentional. It was God’s answer to our deepest need.
As families, it is easy to get caught up in the rush of the season. Gifts, schedules, and expectations can quietly push Jesus to the edges. But Christmas calls us back to the center. Jesus came for us. He came to rescue, restore, and renew.
Messiah and Lord
Calling Jesus the Messiah means He is the long-awaited One, the fulfillment of God’s promises. Calling Him Lord means He is worthy of our trust, obedience, and devotion.
When Jesus is Lord of our family, it shapes how we love one another, how we forgive, and how we live day by day. Christmas becomes more than celebration. It becomes surrender.
Worship Together
One powerful way to refocus our hearts this week is through worship. A song that beautifully captures the wonder of Christ’s birth is:
Worship Song:Noel (Live) by Chris Tomlin featuring Lauren Daigle
Available on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music
As you listen together, let the lyrics remind your family that Noel means “the birth of a King.” Let worship slow your pace and lift your eyes back to Jesus.
Scripture for the Week
Luke 2:11“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
Read this verse together as a family. Talk about what each title means and why it matters for your home today.
Connect as a Family
Use one question each day to spark meaningful conversation:
• Why do you think it matters that Jesus was born today and for us?
• What does it mean that Jesus is our Savior?
• Why is Jesus called the Messiah?
• How does knowing Jesus is Lord shape the way we live as a family?
• What makes Jesus’ birth the greatest Christmas gift?
• How can we focus on Jesus this Christmas season?
• Who is one person we can pray for that doesn’t know Jesus?
These conversations help children and parents alike move from information to transformation.
Prayer
“Lord, You are the light of our lives. In You we have true life. May we keep You at the front and center of our minds and hearts this Christmas. Help us to walk in Your love and grace today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
This Christmas, may your family remember that the greatest gift has already been given. A Savior has been born. He is Christ the Lord. And He is with you today.
