Waiting Is Part of Following God | Renew Your Strength as You Wait on God
Waiting can be one of the hardest parts of trusting God.
We pray for an answer, but nothing seems to change. We ask God for direction, but the next step isn't clear. We believe God can do something, but His timing looks very different from ours.
Isaiah 40:31 gives us an incredible promise for those seasons:
"But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
God doesn't promise that we will never have to wait. He promises that when we wait on Him, He will give us the strength we need.
What Does It Mean to Wait on the Lord?
Waiting on God isn't doing nothing. Biblical waiting is active trust. We continue praying. We continue obeying. We continue worshiping. We continue doing what God has already asked us to do while trusting Him with what happens next. Sometimes we want God to move faster because we can only see what is happening today. God sees the entire story. Waiting reminds us that His timing is better than ours.
God Renews Our Strength
Waiting can be exhausting when we try to carry everything ourselves.
Maybe you're waiting for an answer to prayer. Maybe you're waiting for a financial breakthrough, a new opportunity, healing in a relationship, or clarity about an important decision. Isaiah reminds us that our strength doesn't have to come from ourselves. God renews the strength of those who depend on Him. When our strength runs low, His does not.
Mount Up With Wings Like Eagles
Isaiah gives us a beautiful picture of God's strength. Those who wait on Him will "mount up with wings like eagles." An eagle can rise above what is happening below. In the same way, God can give us a different perspective during difficult seasons.
The circumstances may not immediately change, but God can change how we walk through them. He can give us peace while we're waiting, endurance when we're tired, and hope when we can't yet see the answer. As a family, there will be seasons when you don't know exactly what God is doing. Those seasons are opportunities to trust Him together.
Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep walking. God is faithful, and He will give you the strength you need for every step.

Lord, we will wait on You. We know that Your will is what's best for our family. Renew our strength as we wait on You. May we mount up with wings like eagles. May we run and not be weary. May we walk and not faint. In Jesus' name, Amen.
