We Can’t Help but Praise
There are moments when praise just rises up in us—when we think about who God is, what He’s done, and how He continues to work in our lives.
Psalm 150:1–2 reminds us why praise is not just an occasional expression but a lifestyle:“Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens! Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness!”
Praise is more than a song, it is a response to God's character. Whether we’re at church, at home, or driving in the car, we are invited to lift our voices and our hearts to a God whose greatness has no limits.
Praise That Fills Every Place
David tells us to praise God “in His sanctuary” and “in His mighty heavens.” In other words, praise belongs everywhere, on earth and in heaven, in our church building and in our living room.
As a family, we can create a home where praise is normal, where worship isn’t reserved for Sundays but becomes part of our daily rhythm. When praise fills our home, peace follows. Joy grows. Faith strengthens.
Praise shifts the atmosphere because it shifts our focus, off our problems and back onto God.
Remembering God’s Mighty Deeds
The psalm calls us to praise God for His “mighty deeds.” Sometimes we forget how often God has shown His power and goodness. But when we pause to reflect, we can see His fingerprints all over our lives:
Prayers He has answered
Protection He has provided
Blessings He has given
Comfort He has brought
Strength He has supplied
When we remember His deeds, praise becomes the natural response.
Praising Him for His Excellent Greatness
God’s greatness isn’t just good, it’s excellent. Perfect. Beyond comparison. There is no one like Him.
When your family praises God together, you declare that His greatness is above your circumstances, above your emotions, and above anything happening around you. Praise builds faith. Praise realigns the heart. Praise reminds us that God is always worthy.
