God’s Word Is True
The Foundation We Can Stand On
In a world where opinions change and promises are often broken, it can feel difficult to know what is truly dependable. People change. Circumstances shift. Emotions rise and fall. But there is one thing that remains steady: the Word of God.
Proverbs 30:5 reminds us of this truth: “Every word of God proves true; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.”
That means every promise God has made, every truth He has spoken, and every word written in Scripture has been tested and proven faithful. God’s Word does not fail because God does not fail.
Every Word of God Proves True
Think about that phrase: every word. Not some of His words. Not most of His words. Every single one.
God’s Word has stood the test of time. Through generations, people have leaned on His promises and found Him faithful. His truth holds firm when life feels uncertain.
When God says He will provide, He will. When God says He will be with you, He will. When God says He loves you, He does.
His Word is not empty. It carries truth, power, and life.
God Is Our Shield
Proverbs also says God is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. A shield protects. A shield guards. A shield stands between you and danger.
Life can bring hard seasons, unexpected pain, and difficult moments. But when we run to God, we find protection for our hearts, peace for our minds, and strength for our souls.
Taking refuge in God means trusting Him fully. It means bringing Him your worries, your fears, and your burdens and allowing His truth to cover you.
His presence becomes your shelter.
Trusting God’s Word in Hard Seasons
It’s easy to trust God when life feels good. But trust is often built in difficult seasons.
Sometimes we don’t understand what God is doing. Sometimes His timing feels slow. Sometimes His answers look different than what we expected.
But even in those moments, His Word remains true.
When life feels shaky, God’s promises are solid ground. His truth reminds us that He is working, even when we cannot see it.
Building a Family on Truth
Families grow stronger when they build their lives on God’s Word. Reading Scripture together, talking about God’s promises, and praying through His truth creates a foundation that lasts.
This week, take time as a family to talk about God’s faithfulness.
What does it mean that every word of God is true?
Why can we trust what God says?
When is it hard to trust God’s Word?
What does it mean to take refuge in God?
How has God protected or helped us?
What is one promise from God you can hold on to?
How can we trust God more this week?
Prayer
Lord, every one of Your words proves true. May You be a shield to us in every moment and in every season. We take refuge in Your love, guidance, and protection. We love You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
