God Is Worthy
Have you ever paused long enough to simply declare who God is, not because of what He has done for you lately, but because of who He is eternally?
Revelation 4:11 gives us a glimpse of heaven’s worship. It reminds us that God is worthy of glory, honor, and power. Why? Because He created all things. Everything that exists does so by His will.
Revelation 4:11 : “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
Before God is our helper, our provider, or our healer, He is Creator. He spoke the universe into existence. He formed the oceans, designed the mountains, and carefully knit together every member of your family. Your home exists because He willed it. Your children exist because He willed it. Even your next breath is sustained by Him. Worship begins when we recognize that life is not centered on us. It is centered on Him.
He Created All Things
It is easy to admire creation and forget the Creator.
The sunrise over Tampa Bay. The complexity of the human body. The laughter around your dinner table. These are not accidents. They are intentional expressions of God’s power and wisdom.
When we teach our children that God created all things, we are shaping their worldview. They begin to see purpose instead of randomness. Design instead of chaos. Calling instead of confusion.
Creation tells us that God is powerful. Sustaining creation tells us that He is present. Nothing in your life exists outside of His awareness or authority.
Everything Exists by His Will
This truth is both humbling and comforting.
If everything exists by God’s will, then our lives are not random. Our family is not a mistake. The season you are walking through has not caught Him off guard.
There have been moments in my own life where I wanted control. I wanted the outcome. I wanted things to move faster or differently. But maturity in faith means learning to say, “God, You are worthy. Not me.”
It shifts the focus from self-glory to God’s glory. From anxiety to trust. From striving to surrender.
What It Means for Our Family
If God is worthy, then worship should not be reserved for Sundays alone. It should shape our language, our decisions, and our priorities.
Worthy means He comes first.
Worthy means we honor Him in how we speak to one another.
Worthy means we lead our home in prayer, even when we feel tired.
Worthy means our family exists for His glory, not just our comfort.
When children grow up in a home where God is honored, they learn that life is bigger than personal success. They learn that everything, including their talents and opportunities, is meant to reflect Him.
Family Discussion Questions
As a family this week, take time to talk through these questions together:
What does it mean that God is worthy
Why does God deserve glory, honor, and power
How can our family give God glory this week
What are some things God created that make you say wow
How does knowing God created all things change how we see the world
What does it mean that everything exists by God’s will
How can we show with our actions that God is worthy
Let the conversation be simple and honest. The goal is not perfect answers. The goal is shaping hearts.
Worship Together This Week
Choose a worship song that exalts God as Creator and King. Turn it on in your living room or in the car. Let your children see you sing. Let them hear you declare that God is worthy.
Read Revelation 4:11 together. Slowly. Thoughtfully. Picture heaven declaring those words.
Then pray together.
Prayer
"Lord, You alone are worthy of all our praise and honor. You are first in our hearts, first in our home, and first in all we do. We lift up Your name and worship You with gratitude and joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
May your home be a place where God’s worth is not just acknowledged but lived out daily.
