His Mercy Is New Every Morning
His Mercy Is New Every Morning

Have you ever woken up feeling weighed down by yesterday—regrets, mistakes, or just the weariness of life? We all have those mornings when we wonder if we’ll have the strength to face what’s ahead. In those moments, we need to be reminded of God’s faithful promise: His love never runs out, and His compassion is new every single day.

Lamentations 3:22–23 tells us, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Even when everything around us feels unstable or uncertain, this truth remains firm—God’s mercy is always available, and His faithfulness will never waver.

Unlike the love we sometimes see in the world—conditional, temporary, or inconsistent—God’s love sustains us. It keeps us from being consumed by fear, shame, and doubt. His compassion meets us right where we are, not once, but every morning, offering us a fresh start. This is who He is—constant, compassionate, and full of grace.

A powerful worship song to play this week as a family is “Same God” by Elevation Worship (featuring Jonsal Barrientes). This song is a declaration that the same God who was faithful to Moses, David, Mary, and generations before us—is the same God who is faithful to us now. It’s a reminder that His character never changes, and we can count on Him in every season of life.

As a family, spend some time each day talking through one of the reflection questions below. Let these conversations lead you closer to the heart of God and each other. Remember: God’s love is strong enough to carry you through, His compassion is deep enough to restore you, and His faithfulness is wide enough to cover every part of your life.

Family Discussion Questions (one for each day this week):

  1. What does it mean that God's love keeps us from being "consumed"?

  2. How have you experienced God’s compassion in your life this week?

  3. What do you think it means that His mercies are “new every morning”?

  4. How can we remind ourselves of God’s faithfulness each day?

  5. Why is it important to know that God’s love never fails?

  6. How can we show compassion to others like God shows it to us?

  7. What are some ways our family can celebrate God’s faithfulness together?
