The Power of the Name of Jesus
The name of Jesus is unlike any other—it carries power, authority, salvation, and life. From the beginning, His name was chosen to signify His mission: to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). The Bible tells us that salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11). His name brings healing, deliverance, and victory over the forces of darkness (Acts 3:6, Mark 16:17, Luke 10:17). Jesus Himself declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).
As believers, we are called to trust in His name, pray in His name, and proclaim His name to all nations (Acts 2:38, John 14:13-14, Matthew 28:19). The name of Jesus is our refuge, our salvation, and our eternal hope (Romans 10:13, Proverbs 18:10).
Key Scriptures:
Acts 4:12 – "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Philippians 2:9-11 – "Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
John 14:6 – "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
Matthew 1:21 – "She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."
Romans 10:13 – "For 'everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'"
Proverbs 18:10 – "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe."
John 14:13-14 – "Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it."
Matthew 28:19 – "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Acts 3:6 – "But Peter said, 'I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!'"
Mark 16:17 – "And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues."
Luke 10:17 – "The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, 'Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!'"
Acts 2:38 – "And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'"
The name of Jesus is not just a name—it is the source of life, hope, and eternal salvation. Let us call upon His name with faith, knowing that He is our Savior, our Lord, and our King.
